Is Quality an elitist issue?

Can children from less privileged families of lower income group also have access to Quality Education?

At IQF, we believe “If the mountain does not go to Mohammed, then Mohammed can come to the mountain” (Swami Vivekananda at California in 1900). If the less privileged children of society do not have access to Quality Education, we need to generate that access. Therefore, IQF has launched a new project, beginning 2004 : Quality Unlimited. The objective of the project is to enable children from less privileged families to become citizens of character and competence. IQF will offer free academic tuition to these children, in addition to continual inputs in Quality Improvement and Self Development.

The beneficiaries of this project are school children whose average monthly family income is less than Rs. 5000 and whose academic scores are below 40%. The improvement target in academics is from 40% to 70%. Attitudinal and behavioural improvements will also be measured through a 360 degree appraisal by self, peers, parents and teachers. IQF invites the participation of inspired teachers and tutors in this project.

Teachers who offer their services for this project will be rewarded with notes of appreciation in the IQF Newsletter.

The first intervention at NDMC Navyug School, Peshwa Road, Gole Market, New Delhi – 110 001, India, since July 2004, has been successful in improving the academic performance of the beneficiaries from an average of 35% to 70%.
